Mamma Bea and Family
Beatrice (aka Mamma Bea or just Bea) is a 2-3 year old black female traditional horsecoat female Shar-Pei.
She was rescued from the Lee County Virginia shelter at about 50-55 days pregnant.
Her puppies were born on October 7th, 2010 - 3 boys and 3 girls in a variety of solids
and patterns.

Day 20 - October 27, 2010
Bea‘s pups will be three weeks old tomorrow. We can‘t believe how
quickly they have grown in size and agility. Most of them are walking now, although not
quite steadily yet. They have also had their first taste of yummy
“puppy cereal” as their first semi-solid meal while mostly still nursing Mamma Bea.
For all who submitted adoption applications, these can take several weeks to complete, so
please be patient. The puppies will not be placed on a “first come,
first serve basis”. We look for a suitable match based on the personality
of the dog.
Because we are uncertain of the breed(s) of the father(s),
we cannot verify what breeds the puppies will present as adults.

The pups will be four weeks old tomorrow and are now very active and playing with toys. GOOD NEWS for Tucker - he has a home interested in adopting him when he gets old enough to leave Mamma Bea. The rest of the pups are still available for adoption in December 2010.

We have received several applications for the puppies so have decided to stop
accepting applications. If more applications are needed, we will
provide an update on the website.
Update November 18, 2010: We are again accepting applications for Milla.
The other pups have applications in process or adoptions pending.

Tucker, Trixie and Milo have adoptions pending. We have a few applications for Priestley and Polly so have stopped accepting applications for them. Milla is still available for adoption.

Sorry we have not posted any updates recently. We have been very busy processing applications and getting
puppies to their “fur-ever” homes. All of the puppies except Priestley are settled in at their new homes.
They went to homes all over the East Coast. Tucker‘s new home is in CT; Trixie - WV; Polly - VA; Milla - PA; and Milo - NJ. A huge THANK YOU to Tina and Fred for driving over a thousand miles
to make sure the pups were safely transitioned to their new homes!
